corporate organisations around the world (UN, Save the Children, Gecko, 111 Program and many more)
This masterclass will be rigorous, playful and impactful. Participants will come away with the tools to integrate and strengthen what they already do in their own practice, broadening and deepening their ability within the fields of the arts, education, social development or corporate environments.
The workshop is rooted in the body of the performer and emotion, physical metaphor and action form the key elements of the technique. You will learn how to have a greater presence on stage, how to balance simplicity and intensity, progressively engaging with new layers of response from restrictive to fully flexible. Participants will explore the vivid influence of ensemble work on the individual creative process and vice versa.
Integrating both trainings the participants will use both the physical theatre training and Ensemble methodologies to create and share an ensemble piece on the Saturday afternoon.
For participants aged 18+ with some knowledge of theatre making – come prepared to move in comfortable clothing.
“David Glass’s Creative Practice is a unique and courageous exploration of the archetypal experience of being human.”
Peter Brook, International Theatre Director

“Movement can get into such states”
An exploration of the physical approach to psychology. It is impossible to separate the physical from the psychological. And vice versa. You have to choose one as a starting point. The more evident one to select is the physical. We move before we speak. Always. And if we do not… We’ll see! Come and see how one way of moving can open doors onto the realm of emotions, passions, states of being and states of feelings. Is jealousy the same as envy? No, because the result is the contrary.
