It starts with a game.

What sort of game?

Something for the fun.

That would be good.

A game that releases all kinds of impulses.

Impulses that bound and leap that crash and explode, cheeky impulses that dance and flirt and wink and briefly, for a moment, take a fixed point, then vibrate the air with roars and crows and whispers, impulses that set wild images pouring forth from the universe of our imaginations, Impulses that shatter our traditions and our academic ideas of who this character is or how that text should be spoken. Impulses that light up our faces and eyes with joy.

Impulses that spring back and forth between the players.

Wow that sounds like a lot of fun.

Sometimes I play with it for a while then I pass it on to my friend who plays with it and then gives it back to me.

I love playing with my friends. Together we discover our fun to play with laughter in our eyes and pleasure in our bodies

We call this complicity.

It is fun to have complicity with our friends.

"Where are we going?" my head dryly asks ?

The fun replies "I don't know I am happy to play and see what we discover."

Let's discover the pleasure to play, before our heads got in the way.

To remember the joy of the child who pretended they were a Jedi, a Thundercat or Superhero. Let's release our fun and then when we have the fun in the room let us follow it.

Yes!

And let's do it in front of the audience.

Ah! The audience We must never forget them.

We play with them too. Sometimes directly and other times we play the game of pretending they are not there. But always with them in mind.

So...

A game.

Impulse.

Pleasure.

Complicity.

For the audience.

This is the beginning

It starts with a game.
